The Lakes Golf Club Practice Facilities
Our Members have the best practice facility in Sydney to hone their game right at the footstep of the Clubhouse.
For any assistance on our practice facilities please contact (02) 9669 3544
Our practice range has been designed to ‘play’ like a golf hole, featuring four target greens that are all framed by bunkering. This enables Members to focus in on their shots during practice sessions, whether it be Wedges, Mid-Irons or Woods.
The huge practice tee of Kikuyu grass allows us to predominantly position the hitting ropes on grass all year round, however during the colder months we have a large artificial strip that is in play so Members are able to continue to practice off a perfect surface.
Stretching out to 290 metres, even the longest of players are able to practice all the clubs in their bag right up to the Driver.
Short Game Area
Located at the rear of the Teaching Facility, our short-game area has been designed and shaped to offer every shot that is required on the course.
While the front section of the of the green allows players to practice their chip-and-run style shots and long pitch shots, moving around to the rear of the green there are deep run-off areas where players can practice their high shots onto the elevated green.
Also located at the rear of the chipping green is a large practice bunker, where even on a busy Saturday morning there is ample space to accommodate large groups of golfers.
A signature characteristic of The Lakes golf course is our large and undulating greens, and our practice putting green certainly reflects what Members encounter when they play the course!
With a massive surface area, the practice putting green has been built to offer the player every length and slope of putt imaginable. The bottom section is the steepest, with putts that curve so much that they encourage creative visualisation, touch, and feel.
For the player that wants to work on their roll and putting stroke, the top section of the green has a perfectly flat section that lets them get in a groove right before they head to the 1st tee.
