Dave Lorentz has won the 2019 Captain’s Trophy. He defeated Greg Levy in the Final that was played on Sunday 28th April, 2019. The pair teed off shortly before 8am off the 1st tee off the blue markers where the difference of 9 in their daily handicaps would set the tone for the match.
Greg had to give Dave 9 shots as the handicap and it proved through the first 9 holes of the match. A close contest was fought and through the turn Dave led 1up. Dave had managed to then increase his lead the 3up early on the Back Nine, however, the tenacity and competitiveness of Greg didn’t let up and he was able to claw his way back to only 1 down standing on the 18th tee.
Dave managed to secure a par 3 on the final hole which was good enough to secure his first trophy win at The Lakes. Dave won 2up and captured the 2019 Captain’s Trophy. Congratulations Dave, well played.
