A tricky five-foot putt holed by Vince Clark on the 18th sealed a half point and a 4½ to 3 ½ win by The Lakes over NSWGC at The Australian on Sunday.
Giora Friede led the way with a big 7 & 5 win and superb come from behind wins by LARN Cup rookies, James Mackenzie and James Roberts, resulted in a Lakes’ lower order shut out. Lakes no. 2, Greg Levy, demonstrating once again that the Kensington layout suits his eye, closed his match out at the dangerous 17th with a 2 up victory. Proving that some losses are better than others, the brave showing gold star goes to Peter Good who took his opponent, a recently retired professional golfer, to the 17th.
