The 2024 Lakes Medal Winner is NICK HAPPELL

The Lakes Medal is a NSW Vardon Trophy event for elite level amateur golfers with a Golf Australia Handicap of 4 or less.

This year again saw a strong field, with players travelling from across the State to have the opportunity to test themselves on one of Australia’s premier Championship golf courses, off the Black Tees and Tournament set-up.

Entry was capped at GA 4.4 but the caliber of entries pushed the maximum handicap down to just 1.6!

With the top 4 players all coming in with 1 under 71,  the playoffs went out as the last of the 90 strong field were enjoying lunch!

Oscar topped the field at the end of 18 holes with Nick Happel right behind him.

Lakes Members featured at the top of the leaderboard. Ethan Harvey, Sam Beck, Trevor Sidley, James Raynor and Matt Dane were all within 5 shots of the leaders.

Oscar just missed his par putt on the first hole to drop out of the playoff.

Nick and Joshua BOAZ from Moore Park GC went on to halve the 2nd hole with pars, the third with pars and finally on the 4th Nick prevailed, finding the green with his approach shot and wisely using his advantage and coasting his birdie putt to within inches of the hole for a winning 4.
